Everything’s better on our mountain!

Fly down the mountain, in a tube!

Mt. Norquay is home to Banff’s original and largest tubing park in the Alberta Rockies. Ever flown down a snow-covered slope with the wind rushing through your hair and looked down to see and inflated tube? If not, you should try it. Whether you’ve never touched skis or a snowboard, or just want to try something different, snow tubing is a great way down the hill. Our snow tube park, the first in the Banff area, has a magic carpet and large sliding lanes to go down along with your group of friends or family. The tubing fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down either as Norquay’s floodlit night skiing runs in conjunction with night tubing.

Have a wander around with a pair of snowshoes.

There’s more to Norquay than skiing, riding and tubing. We also have great snowshoeing trails that offer amazing views and a relaxing change of pace. With a fleet of snowshoes in all sizes, this alternative winter activity is ideal for family’s looking for an additional experience other than skiing whilst visiting Mt. Norquay.

High alpine dining at the Cliffhouse Bistro.

“The Cliffhouse Bistro, a Mad Men-era eatery with glorious panoramic windows, a menu of locally sourced cuisine and an avalanche-proof roof.” – Adam Bisby, Globe and Mail

Enjoy a unique dining experience in the newly refurbished Cliffhouse Bistro. The 1950′s teahouse refurbished, now the Cliffhouse Bistro. The Cliffhouse has always been a special place to Norquay and the Banff community. Families and friends enjoyed the engineering marvel starting in the mid-20th century, as it now acts as a fullservice eatery up on the mountain. Savour the unique and inspired flavours of our new Executive Chef, Morne Burger. Morne joins Norquay from his previous role as Executive Chef at Banff’s Maple Leaf Grille and brings with him his passion and belief in “good simple food.” Morne found his love for cooking in Cape Town, South Africa where he was born and raised. His passion for food took him to London England and eventually Banff, Canada.

Experience Banff, like never before.

Perfect for friends and family, visitors will be able to take a scenic ride up the North American Chair to an elevation of 8,040ft. Riding a piece of Banff’s history into the sky, visitors will be ridding the same chairlift Marilyn Monroe had ridden in the summer of 1953. Visitors can then take in the legendary views of Banff and the Bow Valley from the new sightseeing lookout. See the Banff National Park and world famous Mt. Rundle from a different angle.
