Cliffhouse Bistro

Vintage Feel, Contemporary Flavours

The Cliffhouse Bistro is closed for the winter season!

This is our 1950s tearoom turned modern bistro

With theย retro-coolย look of a Europeanย chalet,ย complete withย mid-century modern dรฉcor and uninterrupted views over the town of Banff, weย thinkย this might be one of the best mountain-gazing lunch venuesย in the Canadian Rockies.

With an intimateย 50ย seats,ย and streams of natural light,ย every tableย has a top-of-the-world lookout โ€“ with the mighty Mt. Rundle stealing the show.

Simple, understated, and with a flairย forย mountainย casual, the Cliffhouse Bistro is all about relaxed, upmarket lunch fare.ย  Albertanย flavoursย presented with a twist is ourย specialty.

Sitting at an elevation of 7000 ft., and accessed by riding the North American sightseeing chairlift, the Cliffhouse Bistro has been a social meeting spot since it opened in the 1950s โ€“ bringing the highย to High Teaย in Banff.ย  Summer and winter, the Tea House was the place to meet, socialize and admire the views – evenย including a visit from Marilyn Monroeย in 1953, during the filming ofย River of No Return.

Recently restored with itsย quaint,ย vintage Tea House roots firmly in mind, the Cliffhouse Bistro is today a fusion of retro-cozyย aprรจsย and modern-dayย eatery.

A small, thoughtfully-preparedย list of upscale-yet-unpretentious dishes – influenced by our Canadian Rocky Mountain home, andย infused withย urbanย trends โ€“isย on offer, all freshly-prepared in our kitchen.

Locally-crafted brews, sodas andย Canadian wines are also available, to complete your Cliffhouse Bistro experience.
